Columbus NY Policies and Procedures

 

1. Schedule apartment showings for all inquiries

2. Have the client fill out an application

3. Submit the application to the landlord

4. Collect the client documentation required by the landlord or management company

5. Submit the lease to the client for signature and collect checks

6. Have the landlord sign the lease

7. Deliver the lease signed to the tenant

8. Handle the keys to the tenant for move-in

9. It is prohibited discrimination concerning the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on race, religion, national origin, sex, (and as amended) disability, and family status - Fair Housing Act (of 1968). Additional laws make it illegal to discriminate against renters based on the following: gender identity and sexual orientation.

10. The NYC Human Rights Law (the "Law") protects tenants from discrimination in New York City based on their "lawful source of income." "Lawful source of income" refers to Section 8, portable housing vouchers, security deposit vouchers, and all forms of public assistance. All vouchers are welcome.
